female approach.
Lead by our super gentle Principal Dentist, Dr Ania Simonow, our
"All-Female" team is committed to meeting our patients' highest
professional, clinical and administrative expectations, with the
utmost quality and integrity.
Dr Ania Simonow
Ania,
our dedicated Principal Dentist, completed her Bachelor of Dental
Science at the University of Western Australia, graduating with
First Class Honors in 2003. Her commitment to excellence and
passion for Cosmetic Dentistry and Periodontics during her study at
UWA resulted in her winning both Periodontology and Restorative
Dentistry Prizes in 2002. Ania has been the owner of Kalamunda
Dental since August 2008, when she joined the Perth Hills
Community.
Ania's dream is to establish a dental environment in which
patients feel comfortable, welcomed and relaxed. Though her true
passion is Cosmetic Dentistry, Ania continuously strives for
perfection in all dental aspects and aims to provide patients with
excellent and painless dental treatment. She encourages her
patients to play an active role in their dental care and always
does her best to reassure and educate them on their dental
health.
Ania is an active member of the dental community and has
membership with the ADA and is registered with AHPRA. She regularly
updates her dental expertise through attendence at continuing
education courses across a wide variety of disciplines to ensure
she is kept abreast with the latest dental developments.
Ania is married to Neil Drouet, a local physiotherapist at Mead
Street Physiotherapy. Due to Ania's line of work, Neil has a
special interest in treating acute and chronic jaw joint problems,
especially related to tooth grinding.
Outside of work, Ania has a keen interest in landscape
photography and some of her favourite photographs are displayed
throughout the practice. She also enjoys the great outdoors
including hiking and camping, and successfully completed 2 half
marathons in 2010.
Dr Yeshani Chandraweera
Yeshani spent most of her
early days living in Geraldton, before moving to Perth in 2007 for
university. She has recently completed her Bachelor of Dental
Science at UWA and is just as excited and eager to join the
friendly team at Kalamunda Dental, as we are to have her.
In the clinical environment, Yeshani thoroughly enjoys getting
to know her patients and forming a comfortable rapport and
environment with them.
Outside of work, Yeshani enjoys spending time with family and
friends and playing tennis. She also loves catching up on the
latest movies and TV series. Yeshani plays the piano and like
jamming with her friends on weekends.
Stefani Cohen - Practice Manager
Stefani completed her Dental
Chairside Assisting (DCA) qualification in 2006, while working
full-time "on-the-job" at Yokine Dental Centre. Due to her bubbly
personality and eagerness to learn, this followed on quickly by
training in Front Office skills, which Stef discovered a real
passion for.
After four years of working between both Chairside Assisting and
Front Office at a couple of different practices, Stef joined the
team at Kalamunda Dental Care in early 2009. Her continual passion
for organization, motivation and leadership, lead Stef into the
role of Practice Manager, shortly after she joined the
practice.
Since then, Stef has continued to strive for excellence in every
aspect of the practice and has helped to motivate the whole team in
making Kalamunda Dental Care, not just "a dentist" but "an ultimate
dental experience."
Stef's energy, ideas and motivation keep the team working
together towards the same common goals, always for the good of all
our patients.
Stef has just commenced her degree in Psychology
& Addiction studies through correspondence at Edith Cowen
University. She is very passionate about one day working with drug
and alcohol addictees. In her spare time Stef enjoys reading books,
being active and socialising with her husband, family and
friends.

Ashleigh Smith - Head Dental Assistant
Ashleigh qualified as a Dental Chairside Assistant
(DCA) in 1989 while residing in London for 2 years. Ashleigh gained
valuable experience while working at specialized prosthodontic
practices in South Africa, giving her a wider knowledge of more
complex treatment.
Having a 10 year break from the dental field after the birth of
her 2 children Hannah and Ben, Ashleigh got the opportunity to
manage her husband's electrical business, gaining valuable skills
in business management, book keeping and stock ordering.
After moving to Australia in 2008, with her husband and 2
children and settling into a new environment, Ashleigh decided to
rekindle her dental assisting career and discovered her passion for
surgical procedures. With her outgoing personality, caring nature
and book-keeping background she is a great asset to Kalamunda
Dental Care, being not only a great dental assistant, but also
being in charge of stock control and ordering.
In her spare time, Ashleigh enjoys the great outdoors and loves
going away on camping trips with her family and friends.

not had a dentist for 10 years!!
On returning to Perth in 2009, Kelly got married, built a house
in Chidlow and worked at private practices, both in Subiaco and
