Air Abrasion & Laser Dentistry

Recent advances in dentistry have seen the introduction of air abrasion, which can ease areas of dentistry that may be scary or uncomfortable.

A common abrasive is used with a pulsating stream of air to blow out the decay, preparing the tooth for a natural coloured filling, (which is far smaller in size than a silver amalgam filling). The objective is to be able to eliminate the early decay (Micro dentistry) and therefore leave the remaining tooth stronger than if it were left until pain is experienced. As tooth coloured material is used the filling is almost undetectable

Air abrasion can also be used for removing old fillings and repairing chips on teeth. It almost doubles the bond strength of fillings and fissure sealants and therefore makes them longer lasting.

We also have the DELight™ Dental Laser available, which in some cases allows us to complete fillings with no needles or drilling, making your dental experience even more pleasurable.

We are proud to be able to provide this technology for the benefit of our patients.
